I tailor music selection to the singer's ability and goals. MT (standard and contemporary musical theater), Pop, Jazz, Classical, CMM. We often pick music together after vocal assessment. I also guide students to pick audition music which will help them be successful in auditions.
I take a somatic approach to teaching singing technique. Somatic means rooted in the body, singing without tension and strain to easily achieve good range, agility, and core tone. I believe all styles of music benefit from fundamental somatic techniques.

ABOUT ME
I've been a singing teacher since 1990, specializing in Pop, Musical Theater, Jazz, and Classical. I also do accent and speech coaching. I love all kinds of music. I have performed in Jazz, Pop, Musical Theater, and Circus and Vaudeville! My passion is helping singers find their original and creative power through singing.
I have a Bachelors of Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Washington, and a Masters Degree in Vocal Pedagogy from the Mozarteum in Salzberg, Austria.Â
I have conducted choirs, song circles, elementary school plays, a capella groups, theater, circus shows, and I love everything music!
I am a member of NATS and Professional Vocal Teachers Assoc.
